- To make shaved yellow squash ribbons, run a vegetable peeler lengthwise down the squash to create long, thin ribbons of squash. You could also use squash zoodles for this recipe.
- To blanch the asparagus, bring a small pot of water to a boil, add asparagus and cook for 1 minute. Remove from water quickly and shock in an ice water bath to chill and stop the cooking. Drain before using in the salad.
